Common questions

"Move to Trash" vs. "Permanent delete": gpdedup only moves items to Google Photos Trash. Items stay there for 60 days and you can restore them from photos.google.com. gpdedup has no permanent-delete function.
Restoring a trashed item: Open photos.google.com/trash in a browser, select the items, and click Restore.
Session expired / sign-in loop: Sign out from the app's menu bar and sign in again. If that does not help, please email us the exact error text and your macOS version.
Takeout backup first: Before any deduplication run, export your library at takeout.google.com. This is your single best safety net.
